Unfortunately, as an Xbox 360 owner, I am forced to play 2K's offering or buy a PS3 just to play The Show. While some argue that it is worth it to pick up Sony's console strictly for some hardball action, I am one of those folks who are optimistic that MLB 2K9 will beat expectations this year.
I am specifically looking forward to the Living Rosters feature and the improved ballpark atmosphere that 2K has promised. It's likely that I spend more time adjusting rosters and completing trades in baseball games than I do actually playing the game.
However, the lack of gameplay videos and slow release of vital information (player ratings don't cut it for me, folks) has me fearing for a repeat performance of 2K8, a game that had potential, but was held back by a sluggish frame rate and odd hiccups.
No matter what, come March 3rd, I will be planted in front of my TV, taking charge of my Cubbies in hopes of breaking the 100+ year championship drought.
Whether you play MLB 2K9 or The Show, enjoy the upcoming baseball gaming season.
